The creative power

King Solomon, noted as one of the wisest men to have ever lived said,

Above everything else, guard your heart. It is where your life comes from. – Proverbs 4:23 NIRV

The Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the same proverb reads, Carefully guard your thoughts because they are the source of true life.

I believe the word heart here means our thoughts, beliefs, attitude, convictions and perspectives.

One of the wisest and most successful men to have ever lived is challenging and encouraging us to observe and carefully guard our thoughts, beliefs, attitude, convictions and perspectives, because these are what produce the results we get in our lives.

Our heart about and towards ourselves, others, the circumstances, our future and whatever else, determines the results we receive in those areas.

Today is a good day to examine our heart. Consider our train of thought towards others or to the situation at hand and if we don’t like the direction it is taking us, we can and should hop off the train or change the direction.

The creative power we have is that we get to choose our thoughts.

Pausing to consider the state of our heart is a very revealing, powerful and healthy exercise.

  1. We must Guard and our thoughts.
And like Roman’s 8: 5-8 To always be in the Spirit

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. – Romans 8:5-8
